| The
entire class of Rio Grande GP35's was demoted to B-unit status
in 1972 due to the FRA mandate requiring chemical retention
toilets in all locomotives. Rather than upgrading the locomotives
the Rio Grande chose to demote them. At the time of the demotion,
cab sunshades, speed recorders and other cab equipment was
removed from the GP35's. [73] |
