| First Ski Trains |
|
The first Ski trains used available
equipment, selected, typically, from the heavyweight equipment
pool of equipment. However, cars from the lightweight pool,
Santa Fe, Colorado & Southern, Burlington and Union
Pacific equipment could also find their way onto the train.
Trains could also come direct from Chicago on the Burlington
to the Moffat as sections of the Denver Zephyr, or cars
from the Denver Zephyr could be set out and brought up on
the Moffat by the following train, For more information,
see The Ski Train by Steve Patterson &
Kenton Forrest.

Modeling
notes: There are no available models, except for the brass
models of the ex Northern Pacific cars, an expensive proposition
for a realistic length train. There may be options in the
future for the Tempo cars, as Canadian passenger car modeling
is picking up.

Car Names Note: Note that several of the car names duplicate
those of some of the Rio Grande car names - PIKES PEAK for
example. While not technically the second, third or even
the fourth cars with these names, the examples marked with
an "*" are historic names.
