D&RGW Combines 1230 & 1231, were built by Pullman-Standard originally for purchase by the C&O, but delivered to the Rio Grande. Prior to delivery there were modifications made that were ordered by the Rio Grande, and after delivery, the Rio Grande made additional modifications.

HO scale car kits by NKP Car Company include plated brass car sides and Trainstation Products core kits consisting of plastic roof, ends and floor. In addition to the kit, the modeler will need to purchase trucks, window materials, decals and other detail parts. These kits and sides are no longer available through NKP.

For trucks, we suggest the Walthers part 933-1069, GSC 41-N-11 truck. For windows materials, we suggest microscope slides affixed to the back of the side using ACC (or your favorite replacement). For the underbody, vents, and diaphragms, please refer to the NKP Car website for details (NKP also offers the correct trucks).
